PRICING

All of my prices are unique as each delicious design requires a different amount of time and materials dedicated to making your event special. Delivery is available at an addition cost. All cakes are made completely from scratch using the highest quality and locally sourced ingredients. Below is a guide for what to expect but pricing can change dependent on each order.

Wedding Cake Pricing - Starting at $6 per slice. Kitchen cakes and Cupcakes Available starting at $3 per serving. Cupcakes are ordered in dozens. Kitchen Cakes in 50 or 100 servings.

Party Cake Pricing - I am no longer taking orders for custom birthday cakes or baby shower cakes. If I have openings in my calendar that will allow me to do those I will post with updates.

Do you have a minimum? 

Yes. At this time I am only offering cookies for Corporate orders of 6 dozen+. I will be offering cookies for holidays and classes but am no longer taking small custom orders! Thank you for the support throughout the years.

Cookie Pricing- How much do they cost? 
$65 + per dozen. Minimum of 6 dozen.

FAQ'S

Booking
I ask that custom orders be placed at least 2 weeks in advance.However I typically book out 6-8+ weeks in advance. I can accommodate some last minute requests if I have an openings. It is never to early to get on the calendar as I am already booked out for some weeks!

 

Do you offer wedding cake tastings? 

Yes, I would love to meet with you and discuss, in my bias opinion, one of the best parts of  your big day. Tastings are reserved for those with weddings larger than 75 guests or $400. I have limited availability for In person tastings. If I do not have a time that accommodates both of our schedules a pick up tasting can be arranged. Contact me through the contact tab below and we will set up a time for you to come to the studio or to pick up your kit. The tasting is $35 and an additional $10 per guest (you may add up to 2 additional people for our tasting). During your tasting, which will take 1 hour. You all will taste between 8-10 flavors of cake with different frostings and fillings. It is set up build your own style so you can come up with the flavor combo of your dreams! We will also discuss design, budget, and overall vision for your day. To secure your date a 50% deposit is due no later than 1 week after your tasting. At that point your date will be released.

Are you nut free? 

I am not a nut free kitchen. I make every effort to clean everything thoroughly but I do have almonds, peanuts and pecans in the kitchen at times.

Where are you located? Do you deliver?

I have a commercial cake & cookie studio behind my home in Shelby, NC. Orders may be picked up at the studio.(Address given through invoice.)  In addition to picking up in Shelby, I have pick ups in Asheville, NC once a week. I can also deliver straight to you for an additional charge 2 hours from my studio or 100 miles.

Do you make vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, or nut-free cakes?

Not at this time. We are not currently able to accommodate special dietary requests. We do have some cake flavors that do not contain nuts and we take precaution when baking, however, our kitchen is not nut-free and we cannot guarantee there will be no cross contamination.

Is there anything I should know about transporting my cake? 

We’re so excited for you to pick up your special cake! In case you haven’t transported a cake in your car before, here are some pro tips from our staff members (who have transported many, many cakes!):

  • Please carry the cake box securely, holding it from the bottom, not the sides. Avoid tilting or jostling the box.

  • Make sure to place the cake box in a completely flat area in your car. In most cars, the flattest spot is the floor on the passenger’s side. Do not place the cake on a seat, as they are never completely flat. If possible, bring an SUV-style car that has a flat back.

  • Avoid placing your cake in direct sunlight.

  • Our cakes travel well when they are cold. When you pick up your cake, it will be chilled, and your car should be also. During the summer, we recommend blasting the AC on your way over to our shop to cool down your car, and then leaving the car running with the AC on high while you come in to get your cake. This will ensure that the car is cool when you place the cake in it. This is essential when taking the cake on longer trips, and very helpful no matter the distance.

  • If you’re traveling with a cake during the winter, make sure it is not placed near an air vent with hot air shooting out. Keep the car as cold as possible.

  •  Due to their height, tall one-tier cakes and all two-tier cakes will be packaged in cardboard boxes without lids. This makes for easier and more confident transportation, and is fine to be stored in the fridge this way.

  • If you are picking up a two-tier cake, you may want to bring a friend for assistance. Two-tier cakes are surprisingly heavy, and can be awkward to carry and place in a car by yourself. Especially if it is a very important cake (for example, if you’re using it for a wedding), we recommend bringing backup.

  • Please drive carefully! We always recommend driving with care, but it’s especially important when a cake is involved. Avoid sharp turns or slamming on your brakes and speed bumps.

  • If you have any questions about transporting your cake, please ask! We are extremely confident in the structure of our cakes, but once your cake leaves our shop, Love and Butter  is not responsible for any damages that occur. If you have concerns about transporting your cake, please contact us to discuss adding delivery to your order.

    Please note: we do offer and recommend delivery for all cakes larger than two tiers! If you are purchasing a wedding cake or large cake from us, we will discuss delivery during your design consultation.
